Course Description: In this workshop, students will learn the drawing techniques as well as use of charcoal and/or Pastel. Materials used will include, graphite, charcoal, and pastel and watercolors (optional). Participants will learn how to draw correct sketch by making simple shapes and simplify values into light and shadow. Learn how to express your ideas as you learn about the medium, composition, perspective, colors, tones and shading. You are most welcome to bring your own photograph and the instructor will guide you how to work step by step. Demonstrations will be provided and the use of different drawing surfaces will be discussed. Subjects to learn are landscapes, flowers, trees, birds, still life and portraits. Still life set-up can be provided.
Participants will learn how to block-in an image by making simple shapes and simplify values into light and shadow, make the drawing look three dimensional.
